about

Our Spaces Overlap was released on the Electronic Musik netlabel on 7/22/2012.

Track 1 is a collaboration with Marcus Beuter.
Cover art is a still from the film: Library Light

From the website Acts of Silence:
When I first came across Chris Lynn’s work, I wrote that he had an openness to grasp the commonplace. I’m glad to say that Lynn continues with recording the mundane but his results are far from boring. In Our Spaces Overlap (Electronic Musik), Lynn is not only focusing on field recordings, he ventures into composed ambient music as well as with the title track and other tracks.

Lynn’s strengths remain in the examination of the familiar and the obvious, but there is nothing pedestrian in his results. If one listens to “Classroom Tea”, a composition with field recordings, and “Library Light”, a straight up field recording, one can hear their relationship. The works are simple and rooted in the normal, but they show the rarity of sounds and complexity of our quiet existence.
